Weekends have been filled with working in the basement or going out of town - or, worse, waiting for my contractor/father-in-law to make the time to travel to our house to finish the construction projects that need to be finished.
I think, however, that there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. My afore-mentioned father-in-law will be in town this weekend to put the final touches on the "real" construction pieces - leaving the minor construction pieces to my wife and me.
So, here's what remains:
Big Stuff With Father-In-Law
- Install heating/air vents in my space, wife's space, bar, and bathroom
- Build bathroom closet
- Hang bathroom door
- Shim remaining doors
- Install counter and cut out space for sink in wife's studio
- Install clay-catch under wife's sink
Big Stuff We're Hiring Out
- Lay floor in bathroom
- Hook up sink & toilet in bathroom
- Hook up sink in wife's studio
Stuff We'll Do
- Paint trim in my studio
- Install laminate floor in my studio
- Install curtains in my studio
- Build and install ceiling utility grid in my studio
- Prime and paint 2 walls in the bar
- Paint bathroom counter bases
- Decorative finish on bathroom walls
- Install bathroom mirrors
- Paint bathroom door
- Install bathroom hardware (shower rod, toilet paper roll, clothing hooks, etc.
- Clean underdeck

- Clean
That seems like a LOT of work, doesn't it? I thing we can still meet our July 30 finish deadline, but we'll be REALLY busy until then!
After its all done, we'll have an open-studio party. Bring booze!
